The Communication Program welcomed Zarqa Nawaz, creator of the hit CBC sitcom Little Mosque on the Prairie, to speak to students, professors, and members of the public on Friday, April 8th.
This was a really exciting event. Little Mosque has been one of the CBC’s biggest hits in the last few years. It’s about a Mosque in a fictional small town called Mercy, Saskatchewan, where members of the Muslim community try to understand their non-Muslim neighbors, while their neighbors understand them.
The program was presented by the UND Program for Canadian, Quebec, and North American Francophone Studies, IFMidwest, and the College of Arts and Sciences. Communication Program Professors Kyle Conway and Timothy Pasch are members of the expanding Program in Canadian, Québec, and North American Francophone Studies, as well as the UND Institute for Borderland Studies http://undborderlands.org
