At the annual UND Communication Program Banquet, held April 27, 40 students were awarded scholarship certificates and monetary assistance for excellence in journalism, public relations, advertising, public speaking and broadcasting.
Theresa Rerick, Grand Forks, was awarded the prestigious Schlasinger Memorial Laureate for the top graduating student. The nominees for the 2011 Schlasinger Memorial Award were: Julie Bech, Holly Feldman, Katie Haarsager, Emily Lorenz, Kaylee Nesdahl, Theresa Rerick, Amy Unrau, Stephanie Waltz, and Paige Wold.
Each year scholarships are available to UND Communication Program students totally nearly $25,000 in distributed funds contributed by alumni and supporters of the program.
