Doctoral Candidate, Communication and Public Discourse
“Communication Surroundings Stewardship of Voyageurs National Park” – on how people living in the Rainy River drainage basin describe stewardship and environmental ethics in relation to the land.

Tetiana Vaskivska, Master’s Candidate, Communication
“Muslim Visibility in Catalonia: Face Veil Veto and its Cultural Interpretation in Media” – on the role that Spanish journalists play in the public debate on the prohibition to wear a burqa for Islamic women.

DECEMBER 8
Dr. Timothy Pasch, Assistant Professor, Communication

The UND QR Quest: Incentivizing Student Engagement with QR Code Technology” – on a technology-based game that took place at the University of North Dakota between August 19-29, 2011.  Discussion centers on the theoretical rational and technical implementation behind the research design, discussion of the game itself and analysis of the data gathered.

Rich McFarlane, Master’s Candidate, Communication
 “Performance Anxiety and Self – Confidence in Students: The Case of Grand Forks Summer Performing Arts Program” – on how student levels of performance anxiety and self-confidence rated before and after participation in the Grand Forks Public School district’s summer program.
